Okay Iunno if it's better or not but it's super good.

A good chunk of it is basically Clone Wars stories from Anakin and Obi-Wan's points of view

but it's a lot grittier and junk

like the clones are not particularly nice or brotherly, a lot of the action is more intense, the war itself is portrayed more seriously (chemical weapons, war crimes, civil wars and political coups) plus it has DURGE in it

just to clarify

Star Wars: Republic is a comic series that ran in the early 00s and bridged the gap between the various prequel films.

the issues i'm reading atm deal with the clone wars stuff

Durge was badass. And it's nice that Anakin got to take him out in the comics.

Nah, he's talking about the Star Wars comics that came out around the same time set in the same period. Durge was in both.

Yeah, it's pretty damn good, though I can't compare it because I haven't seen the cartoons outside some of the bigger scenes like Obi Wan vs Darth Maul and Maul/Savage vs Sheev.

The comics in 00s were pretty good. These obviously the Darth Bane stuff.

The Clone Wars tv series had every single one of these things.

I really liked the issue where Valorum is about to blow the whistle on Palpatine and then he's murdered, and the Last Stand on Jabiim arc is a pretty good "horror of war" story for Anakin.

Also if memory serves in a Rebel-era series Luke and a few other rebels land on Jabiim but gotta take off pretty much as soon as the locals find out Luke's last name and want to basically execute him.

Yep, it was a quasi-sequel in the Empire series.

I'm glad you're sticking with it.
