Krasinski has really expanded his acting repertoire as of late, and he's definitely reaching the age where he would fit well into an established Reed Richards role. Sign me up! This comes hot on the heels of confirmation that Christian Bale is the antagonist in Thor 4. What do you think of this potential casting? I could really get behind a John Krasinski/Emily Blunt as Mr./Mrs. Fantastic
though tbh I'm surprised to see Scarlet excited about anybody playing Reed Richards --- Khal Kirby, warlord of the Super Star Khalasar PSN/Steam: CheddarBBQ https://goo.gl/Diw2hs ... Copied to Clipboard!

Reed Richards is a terrible character, but John Krasinski could definitely make him much less two-dimensional.

This just seems like a person who both fits the character's existing persona but will also elevate his likability considerably

Now I'm imagining a poor bastard who's already signed on as Reed Richards but is going to get quietly taken off the project after Feige sees the positive reception Krasinski has been getting and decides to snatch him up.

Krasinski was also a frontrunner for Cap before Evans took the role so I think he probably still has good ties with Marvel.

I'd also be okay with him picking up Cap in some time-shifted entries to that series! I think Marvel needs to consider more high-profile recasting. No one batted an eye at the Hulk shifting.

No one batted an eye because it was only after one movie, and a movie widely considered the weakest one.Ed Norton was not considered weak in the role at the time. At all. In fact, people thought he was the best part of that movie. And let's be honest. There are a lot of talented actors who could play the role of Steve Rogers. I don't think it's a particularly pioneering role. I get the sentiment about Tony Stark, and it would diminish the character to write him back into things (except in archive footage), but Steve? He's got more potential now than ever. --- "It is too easy being monsters. Let us try to be human." ~Victor Frankenstein, Penny Dreadful ... Copied to Clipboard!

Oh sure, but Hulk is also less popular than Cap in general. People would've loved to have Norton back, no doubt, but it's not like people had time to get attached to him in the role like they have with Chris Evans.

At the time, that was definitely not the case! Now? Sure. Cap is close to the echelon of a James Bond or Batman in terms of film iconography in the current climate. But that's my point. Putting these roles that should be evergreen on pedestals is a bad choice because the characters are meant for longterm serialized storytelling, not five chapters and out.
