14 days is the extreme outlier. Most people show symptoms in 2-3 days like any other illness.

I do. But they've seemed to avoid the flu this long, not sure how the Wuhan Flu would be lurking somewhere another infectious illness wasn't already lurking.

The worst part about this virus is that I'm planning on a trip to Cali in a few weeks. So I constantly have to look to see if I need to cancel and I'm knee deep in all the fear mongering.

Don't get me wrong, I know it's potentially very dangerous, but everyone is making it sound like it's the black plauge on steroids.

There are treatments and vaccines for flu

So far there's nothing for covid19

So what? A healthy 25 year old will usually not die from the flu anyway. And the "treatment" doesn't cure it, it just shortens the length.

Also I don't know anyone that even gets the flu vaccine except old people and that's irrelevant anyway, old people are vulnerable to pretty much anything

Well it seems to be far more deadly than the flu to them, so just take precautions the best you can to help them not get it

Oh I'm not worried about me, I'd most likely recover. I'm worried about giving it to my pops or grandma who both have diabetes

Akcthually.
Turns out that kids are near immune to it. The only reported cases of kids having it are extremely mild, and IIRC not a single child has died from Covid. That includes babies.

You could not even go on a trip and instead get the regular flu from opening the door to your local gas station and pass it on. This chance has existed in your life every single day you've been alive but yet we aren't freaking out about that.

True enough, there's a case about two hours from where I live so I could catch it here too.

Yeah, I was pretty glad to hear that kiddos aren't as susceptible to it as I'd thought they'd be.

In my case I'm worried because I have to go to italy this summer since I'm one of the heirs of some old lady who died and I have to sign documents to sell her house and split the money. It's in northern italy too, near where the outbreak is worst.

Although to be frank I'm more worried about getting hassled at the border on my way back than I am of actually getting the virus

I can understand being afraid of the thought your heading right into it and might be quarantined against your will which would definitely suck.

Dude that shit is pissing me off. The reddit app has sent 3 push notifications this week telling me to sub to it. I also get semi daily notifications from r/politics showing me "hot" posts, I am subscribed to neither sub. It's almost like reddit is trying to push an agenda

I was about to make the same topic. Everything I could find indicates that you are much more likely to get the flu. The death rate does seem to be higher, but for normal people, it'd just be flu symptoms
