I know that it was technically released last decade, but let's get logical about this for a second. There is no way, rightfully so, that in March 2010 anyone is going to claim it is one of the best games of the 2000s since it had only been officially out for 4 months by that point. But now in March 2020 it's not eligible because it wasn't released in this decade? That's dumb. It being basically disqualified from both decades because of it's release date is stupid because it's obviously being one of the biggest games of the 2010s.

That's what I meant with my first sentence but I can see how that wasn't very clear since last decade is now the 2010s and I'm just not used to that yet I guess. I know it was released in 2009 but I still think it was easily one of the biggest games of the 2010s and deserves to be in the bracket over like 70% of the other entrants at least.

not only are these terrible opinions they also really dont mean shit considering that weither you like the game or not its been one of the most popular games in the world since its release.

They succeeded in creating probably the most viable professionally competitive game in history, and have had one of the most comparatively user-friendly monetization practice since the beginning (Aside from the Pre-S5? rune pages and stuff).

I'm not shitposting. This applies to any MOBA. There isn't anything in the game that a player can do to be more skilled than their opponents, because of how the mechanics are based on RTS. It's not like a fighting game or old-school FPS where you have multitudes of mechanics to take advantage of with a near infinite skill ceiling, it's just a watered down RTS meant to be highly accessible.

You are so pathetic. Look at you, desperately gatekeeping what "skilled games" are to justify your own investment of time in fighting games.

Why the fuck are gamers so annoyingly self-centered about this kind of shit? League of Legends has, without double-checking, something like 150 different champions.

To main a champion, you first need to learn how to farm in lane with the champ--How much do you rely on abilities versus auto attacks in order to efficiently last hit without burning through your resources. Then you need to learn the basic engagement criteria and ability combos you can utilize with that champ--When do you lead with CC, when do you lead with Ult, how do you best chain your gap closer with your AAs while orb-walking to ensure maximum damage output, ect. Then you need to learn how you matchup against all 150 other champs in the game, with the variables of when you're even, when you're ahead, when you're behind, when you're in lane, when you're in river, when you're in jungle, when you're diving, and when you're being dove. Then you need to learn how your champ fits into every team comp, when you hard engage, when you poke, when you disengage, when you bait, ect. Then you need to learn how you play against every team comp, likewise.

This is ignoring the basic universal mechanics (Orb-walking, last hit timing, jukes, general APM, skillshot aiming and predicting) and the complexities that are introduced once complex team strategies are utilized to manipulate your opponents into creating exploitable vulnerabilities and mismatches through vision control, splits, and ganks.

It takes a tremendous amount of skill and knowledge to predict these matchups, which is why most pro-players can only competively play 6-10 champions during any pro season, as it requires constant practice to maintain mastery over any champion in the game as the meta constantly changes. Most pro players play at least 8 hours a day in team skirmishes and pickup play in order to maintain this level of flexibility and mastery.

Oh, and Fighting Games also take a tremendous amount of skill to play, but I can recognize that because I'm not a gatekeeping shitposter.

I used to play BlazBlue competitively in Seattle with people like Nakkiel. Some of those people also played LoL competitively. I myself used to play StarCraft competitively. They all require skill to play, that's why people who are really good can make money. If it didn't require skill there would be no competition to seperate pros from anyone else. Though MOBA especially requires team play and strategy, so it's a different skillset.
