available: satellite.

She can download the equivalent of 3 e-books before her bandwidth is throttled.

Kentucky is the fifth worst when it comes to the rate of high-speed internet use.

Couple of takeaways:

$69? Nice.
Those speeds and bandwidth caps are completely fucked. They are living in hell.

Almost certainly in a very rural area-- can't really expect much other than satellite if you live in the middle of nowhere.

Not even living near cell reception? Time to move to one of the more developed areas of Kentucky.

i think it should be. no reason why we can't amend things as technology progresses. Especially now these days when even the most basic thing like a job application can only be found online for most minimum wage jobs.

Thats fair, albeit one as a matter of fact (slow-but-uncapped Internet would be sufficient for most tasks for basic living but base Internet speeds are always increasing anyway so 20 Mb/s Internet should be fine).

isn't it like 25mbs? so throttled would be like 256k?

this is one reason i don't wanna live out in the country. i like going as a kid to go visit for a weekend/week but that was before cell phones and high speed internet for the most part. definitely couldn't like up there. i've visited my cousin and i had verizon and even with that i would only have like 1 bar. she was on metro and would never have service. have to drive 30-45 minutes just to get to a walmart.

It's pretty sad that with how important to every day life the Internet has become, that high quality broadband connections aren't available everywhere in the country.

I get some folks live in really rural places and all but damn.

Funny, after living with 200mbps unlimited for several years I'm moving next month where there arent any good high speed providers.Main reason I moved 7 years ago.

I'm looking into hotspot plans through my Verizon but honestly I'm just happy that I'll have an extra $700+ a month.Plus my job and my bar have wifi.

Edit: I cant believe how much providers are leaching off of rural areas with their data caps ect....

So I should have to pay money so that people who choose to live in the middle of nowhere can have luxuries? How about no.
