pegusus123456 02/28/20 7:58:27 PM #1:	Helen learns about the Candyman and debunks it by exposing a gang leader who was taking the name and hook gimmick for himself. This angers Candyman because he can't exist without belief. His ultimate goal is to have Helen die with him (it's implied she at least resembles the lover he had in life) so they can both live forever in urban legend. She eventually goes along with it because her life is ruined and to save a baby, but he's going to let the baby burn with them in a bonfire. So she escapes with the child, dying in the process, and Candyman burns. She defeats the villain by supplanting him. Her legend overtakes his, becoming the "writing on the wall, the whisper in the classroom." Tony Todd and the Candyman character gets all the recognition for obvious reasons, so I'd completely forgotten that the entire movie is about Helen.
