That dude literally saved Planet Earth and the Human Race at the risk of his own life.
And he wasn't even under Imperial Guard orders, he just did it because he's a bro. No one ever seemed to appreciate that. O'brien got a medal for saving like 13 people from Cardassians. If Kirk or Sisko saved Andoria from some scaley freaks with WMDs you better believe they would have been a scene where the world leaders give him a medal and a colorful glass of alcohol. --- ...
