For instance, something like socioeconomic philosophy or advanced mathematical concepts require actual critical thought to comprehend; raw memorization won't be very helpful.

Whereas something like capitals of the world's nations, abbreviations of the chemical elements, etc., pretty much necessitate rote memorization because it's just raw data.

I'm trying to make a list and study those things. Any suggestions?

Depends on what you're going for, but anything where the subject requires breadth versus depth. Once you get deep into a subject a deep understanding is required to excel.

What I mean is that I'm basically looking to study and memorize every conceivable subject that has list-like information. Example:

Capitals of the countries
Current political leaders of the countries
U.S. governors
Chemical elements
Quarterbacks of each NFL team

Stuff like that
