Frieza withstood the Hakai attack of both Sidra (an actual GoD) and Toppo (a quasi in-training GoD). If he can survive that, then Jiren -- who absolutely rofflestomps Frieza -- can certainly withstand Beerus's Hakai, IMO.

Considering that the threshold to hit Hakaishin was met by Toppo, Jiren was a step above everybody but the angels and Zeno.

That's an excellent point.

We are told that Toppo is literally in line to become Universe 6's next GoD. So Toppo is obviously GoD material.

Yet Toppo was the first to admit that he can't even hold a candle to Jiren.

Belmod never "controlled" Jiren. And the way Belmod was talking during the Tournament of Power, even he (Belmod) knows that Jiren would beat him in a fight. Belmod himself said "Jiren is a being who will never lose. No matter who he's up against."

The reason why Jiren respects Belmod's position as the GoD is probably just that: Belmod is a god, and Jiren doesn't want that position of being the destroyer. He's a warrior of justice.

It is canon that Beerus is the most powerful of the God's of Destruction by a significant amount, so regardless of how other GoD's react to Jiren, Beerus is the best of them.

Not that much of a warrior of justice if he did the equivalent of rage-quitting and wanted to kill the weaker peons at the bleachers watching him take an L. LOL

Even warriors have frailties and moments of weakness. Goku understood that. That's why he honored Jiren at the end and said he wanted to see him again, rather than being like "yo whassup you fake ass justice wanna be bitch, tryna murder my friends fool"

Also, Beerus is not frightened or even in awe of Ultra Instinct Goku beating Jiren, more like excited and interested.

He never feared it.

I really want them to explore the unexplained realm of what happens when these mortals become as strong as, or stronger, than their destroyer gods. It's left up in the air at the end of Super, but heavily hinted at, like you guys already covered.

Here's hoping they finally announce new eps this year.
