Interesting take from Bernie. Sounds like CNN is going hard on him now.

He's never going to put a price tag on it. Warren did and everyone ripped her apart for it because it's was completely unreasonable. He knows as long as he keeps promising all that stuff without ever explaining how it'll stay popular.

I am surprised to see CNN go THAT hard. I know they don't like sanders that much (which is weird considering they didn't bring ANY of this up over the last...oh i dunno 4 years) but there ya go

maybe im missing something but why cant they just wave away student debt? its just money the government owes itself, there's no tangible product backing it like with a mortgage or car loan, the federal debt isnt securitized, etc

The general counter-argument is that without significant additional measures you're going to be back to that level of debt in only a few years. Wiping away the current debt does not prevent new debt from forming and much like Bernie's other plans, all it does is temporarily eliminate the symptom without seriously addressing the cause. For example, Bernie's official student debt platform says he'll cancel current debt, make public colleges free, and cap interest rates. Okay... but the underlying problem is colleges charge too much. Nothing he's proposing actually FIXES that, so in a few years everyone going to private institutions will be saddled with the exact same debt and the tax bill to cover all the other institutions will skyrocket.

Probably a better strategy since healthcare is clearly not working for a large amount of americans

Dunno if he can walk it all back or if M4A is enough to win against trump with..but its better than these answers

He will probably keep touting the other stuff to get elected, and if elected I would hope M4A would be the issue he focused on and he'd likely let the others fall to the wayside.

Maybe but he needs to have better answers and NOT say these things on camera unless he wants trump sitting in front of his vacation house holding a rally, and blasting his answers on a giant big screen tv*

I agree I would like better answers. I just think that a lot of the stuff he's saying is to kowtow to proponents of those things and that he would focus mostly on m4a. But we will see.

The problem with this angle is that one of Bernie's biggest strengths has been the consistency of his message and the collective belief by his fans that he really means everything he says. "He's just saying these things to kowtow" is basically antithetical to his entire platform.
