I don't know if it's worth that much but yeah this. This should be everyone's main complaint and I can't understand why it isn't

The only arc worth anything was the final arc. And that is mostly because it is a giant tournament arc.

I must have low standards from not watching many cartoons. I didn't notice much bad animation aside from a few parts like Goku punching the bear guy in the belly. And even then, I don't really gaf

Have you ever rewatched Z? If not, be prepared to be disgusted at its god awful animation. You literally have one episode looking decent/great and the next looking like a 12 year old animated it with a 100$ budget.
DB Super started out with piss poor animation, yet improved over time and kept improving. DBZ had shitty animation as late as the Buu saga.
I used to believe the same thing until I took the effort to rewatch Z.

Lol One Piece is way more profitable than DB ever was and looks equally shit. No one in Japan actually cares how children's cartoons look, they print money regardless.

Anything after the Frieza saga tbh, that is when Z peaked and they never were able to recapture what was so fantastic about it.

In hindsight GT was way better than Super, and it gave us SSJ4 which is and of itself is a great and unique transformation, instead of just different hair colours.

My sister and I were big fans of it when were we younger, but we've came to realize that it's honestly a pretty horrible series over the years... shallow characters, repetitive plot arcs (villain shows up and is too powerful -> trains -> villain is defeated -> new, stronger villain shows up -> repeat), lazy fights, progresses at the pace of a slug, etc..

I'm ambivalent about Inuyasha, but I strongly dislike both One Piece and Naruto.

But yes, shonen anime generally don't have a lot of effort put into them, so you're right on that point.

I could see why you would argue Cell saga was the end, but saying Frieza was the end ignores the whole Gohan arc they had been foreshadowing in DBZ. Frieza would have been a lame end to DBZ.

I still enjoyed Buu too, so I'm glad that it was a part of it.

I enjoyed it all, but the story telling went off the rails to me after Frieza. The Android stuff and Buu stuff mostly seemed to come of left field.

HxH is pretty overrated. It's good, but it mostly gets by on the backs of a few great characters with a lot of mediocre ones. The plot isn't always fantastic either.
