I've seen countless other viral memes recently hating on the show and most particularly it's atrocious final season.

All is right in the world.

Tbh they didnt even need to come up with an ending. HBO and George wanted them to take way longer to adapt what they had. The hacks decided to rush everything and skip super important stuff from the books.

I like the books. I usually talk about how much better the books are than the show when someone brings it up.

Damn glad I was wrong.

Some actors don't like working on the same project for 10+ years. Maybe Martin should actually write more than one book a decade if he was worried about the show passing him up.

Good thing it wasn't up to the actors then. I'm sure they would have rather had steady work making the project work right. And tbh, even if the next books came out, that doesn't mean they should have been rushing passed everything from the two books before that like they did.

They essentially didn't even adapt the last too books aside from like 3 or 4 scenes. They just didn't do almost everything that happens in those two because they didn't like those books.

The top exec's at Netflix's could have put their foot down still and told them to f*** off. But I guess this is just a example of executives not being involved enough.

Let me know how well your show works out when you have to recast major characters because the actors aren't interested in sticking around for that long.

To your second point it's more like they didn't adapt those two books because they were full of plot threads that either went absolutely nowhere or left no idea how they might be resolved in the scope of the larger plot. I'm not saying David and Dan weren't bad at coming up with their own material once they ran out of book stuff to adapt, they were. You however seem to equally clueless.

No, that's what happens when Disney comes knocking on your door with mountains of cash, you rush your current project because you have 0 integrity, everyone hates how you completely shat on the best fantasy TV series in living memory and Disney cans the deal, leaving you with nothing but a bunch of angry fans.

What is clueless about it? You really think the actors would have gotten upset and left if they decided to give them a high prestige high paying job for some extra years?

And considering the plot threads we did go through on the show ended up going no where, they could have at least gave enough of a shit to try and adapt what they had.

I really loved where Sansa and her story were going in the books. And actually what happens in the end makes total sense with how the show ends. Too bad they decided to say fuck Sansa and fuck the books and just made her a rape toy for no reason.

What gets me about the hate for GoT is that it was downhill after season 3 and shit since season 5, but everyone just focuses on the last season or two

Yeah, this. I honestly believe if they would have stuck with how the stories in the book went it would have worked out.

It all started with Tyrion's stupid beetles. They ruined Tyrion's story because they liked Shae's actress and didn't want to do Tyrions story from the books.

Plus not having him go on his fun river adventures with young griff and everyone just gave him nothing to do.

Having the extra storylines they cut out would help make the endings actually make sense. Danny has much more reason to be mad if everything she has been working for gets achieved by someone else.

I understand what youre trying to say, but I think most fans loved seasons 1-4. Season 5 started showing the cracks but was still passable (minus anything Dorne). Season 6 started the decline but was still passable, but it was seasons 7 and 8 that really ruined the show. Season 8 was especially bad because we waited two years for six episodes, and there was so much to wrap up that almost nothing felt satisfying.
