I thought so when I was in high school because he could drum really fast. As I've listened to more music, I tend to appreciate more creative drummers like Bryan Devendorf from The National and Phil Selway from Radiohead. Even Ringo was awesome.
I don't know enough about drumming to comment objectively, but those are my favorites. I like The Police but I never quite "got" why Copeland was so widely regarded. --- I am the Cheese!
