Obviously its a total first world problem and incredibly petty, especially when you consider how many games are included in like SNES Mini, Sega Genesis Mini, etc. but some exclusions are still pretty disappointing.

Like, why did they NOT include the entire Donkey Kong Country trilogy with the SNES Mini? Or like with the Genesis one, it has the first ToeJam and Earl game and the first Earthworm Jim game, but not the sequels.

I could totally understand if they were going to release plug-in expansions or something, but it just seems like these were chances to make definitive official game collections and they should have gone all out and included even more than they did.

And, yes, I know there are ways to illegally modify these, but the point is it would have been nice not to have to resort to that in the first place.

Imagine a PS2 mini. Gonna be a lot of disappointed people. Just too many good gems on that platform.

The music issues with Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles are such a bummer too.

I dont know why they either cant get the legalities straightened out or just make new music. Could they remix it like in Sonic Generations?

A rump rubdown

Have someone press their fist on your butt cheek, and then slowly rotate it in a counter clockwise motion, all the while maintaining the pressure. Then switch to clockwise.

They made new music for the PC collection, people didn't like it.

They can't always license the games for whatever reason or just want a wider spread of titles. Though I do wish they would do more titles myself. I doubled the games on my Mega Drive Mini and still have space. The NES Classic could handle so many more as well. The PS Classic though, not much extra space, but that should have included PSN support instead to download games owned there. With that and analog controllers, it would have been a must own system for plenty of people.

Now that you mention it, I do remember having the games on PC and the music being different.

But at this point Id take that over not being able to play them at all (I actually just broke out the GameCube and Sonic Mega Collection to play some 3 & Knuckles lol). Surely theres someone out there who can do new music that would actually sound good lol.

True, Jun Senoue is more than capable of composing some good tracks, and has done for sonic games since the Megadrive. Sonic Mania also had some great tracks.

Why did they change the music?

I don't believe that Sega has publicly said why, but its believed to be either Sega not owning the rights to the music, as it was co-written by Michael Jackson, and not wanting to be associated with him after he went off the deep end in the 90s. I believe there are other games in collections which are omitted despite popular demand, as they are rights on songs contained within are on dodgy ground so are omitted to avoid legal issues.

First reason would be idiotic. I assume they lost licensing rights. I'm sure there's a mod for the PC version I could download if I really wanted the music.

Yeah the licensing I can absolutely understand. But like I said in my opening post, its the fact that games that they own that are part of a series and dont have any legalities to worry about not being included that bugs me.
