A Slow-Motion Looting OVER THE LAST TWO YEARS, nearly every institution of American life has taken on the unmistakable stench of moral rot. Corporate behemoths like Boeing and Wells Fargo have traded blue-chip credibility for white-collar callousness. Elite universities are selling admission spots to the highest Hollywood bidder. Silicon Valley unicorns have revealed themselves as long cons (Theranos), venture-capital cremation devices (Uber, WeWork) or straightforward comic book supervillains (Facebook). Every week unearths a cabinet-level political scandal that would have defined any other presidency. From the blackouts in California to the bloated bonuses on Wall Street to the entire biography of Jeffrey Epstein, it is impossible to look around the country and not get the feeling that elites are slowly looting it.

This article is long, but it is worth the read. I haven't read huffpost articles for years because the quality and other issues were becoming a problem with that site, but this is definitely one of their better articles that help explains the problems of today.

It is certainly true that White Collar Crimes and Unethical problems have become very common.

Look at the artificial bloating of Apartment prices because they think everyone must have a luxury apartment, but not thinking of the middle class that really needs affordability.

It's clear they're trying to squeeze out every dollar out of Americans as much as possible now.

2000-2008 was the Golden Age of white collar crime. It's almost like people forgot Enron existed. Also, the problem with Silicon Valley today is authoritarianism more than greed.
