The spineless Republicans were never going to convict Trump anyway. An impeachment absolutely should not be a partisan thing. If half the country disagrees that the alleged offense even counts as wrongdoing, something is seriously wrong with the case. No other impeachment in history was this partisan. That said, now that Trump is cleared for asking for the investigation, I absolutely hope they go right back to investigating Biden and take it all the way. It's fucking absurd that Dems are more worked up about Trump investigating wrongdoing than the are about the actual alleged wrongdoing. It's like Clinton emails all over again: massive dump of emails showing Clinton's systematic corruption, interference in the primaries, quid pro quo for contributors, illegal dealings in office. How do the dems respond? "This is unacceptable, we have to find out who was responsible for bringing this to public knowledge". And they proceed to continue to operate business as usual buy taking a massive bribe to let Bloomberg into the debates.
