It's about making steps in the right direction. All or nothing mentality is why voters are so dumb with their votes. They like the people who promise undoable things instead of the ones that will reasonably admit they can't just go in and do magic.

Most of the Democratic candidates say they support a form of Universal Healthcare. I wouldn't trust them because Hillary Clinton dropped healthcare like a hot potatoe once she got into the general.

Bernie Sanders has been consistent and he doesn't have big money interests corrupting him like how Obamacare was a gift to private insurance.

iirc bootyjudge's plan was to create a public option that would compete alongside private healthcare providers, i thought that was actually a pretty cool idea & solves a lot of the bigger issues. but im happy with any reform we can get, the healthcare system in the US is a bizarre mess

That isn't a new idea. A public option version of Obamacare couldn't pass because of DINOes.

Well a public option could be a quick temporary solution. We already have the Obamacare exchanges to sell it on and the government has already negotiated prices with Medicare and Medicaid.
