What's stupid about it? It's not a speedrun, it's just a proof of concept. People find joy in digging around in a game's code and finding obscure stuff you can do. I think it's pretty interesting.

No. He says "So what I did was I modified code in the game. The file was totally untouched." He's talking about the ACE. He didn't change any files. He used precise controller inputs to manipulate and execute game code.

Probably more my misunderstanding/assumption based on the OP, win which I assumed this was being meant as a "speedrun" or that the game was actually beaten in that time as if he actually beat it.

But yeah if it's just manipulation of code and that's all it was presented as, cool

It's a good thing that, unlike the TC, the video has no sign of the word 'beat' in it, because this is not a speedrun, and that is not beating the game.

I still object to the word 'run' in the video's description, but well, can't be perfect.

While it might be interesting to some people, personally I don't find it any different from someone directly editing/hacking the game's data so it displays the ending immediately upon starting a new game.

Okay, so he didn't hack it via brute force and did it within the confines of the game itself by 'arbitrary code execution'. Whatever. It's still as interesting as a video of someone taking off his sweater without using his hands. 'But he didn't use his hands, guys. That's something!'

That's why you shouldn't watch Any% runs. They tend to be boring as shit.

Aside from the credits warp there's some other neat stuff you can do with it. Like spawn the Arwings that the developers used to test the boss fight against Volvagia.
