Why do people think the mods care that you think the user deserved to be insulted?

Also because they did. I as a human of relative cognizance cannot let an inane discussion continue without at least informing the other party that theyre being a dumbass.

people want to be exceptions to rules. especially when they're upset.

but with certain mods who love to play dumb and have egos that can't handle inconvenient truths said plainly, it doesn't really matter anyway, lol.

staff or your average user, people need to stop letting their insecurities and toxic habits leak out onto strangers.

When I got modded for my Gal Gun music vid to Borgore's "ice cream" song, I'm still disappointed I didnt dispute it with "but all these bitches wanna lick my ice cream!" Wasted opportunity.

I wish I could dispute my moderations. You guys usually go straight for the suspensions because... heck if I know.

If you get nodded for giving your opinion on sensitive subjects, then topics about sensitive subjects shouldn't be allowed.

You generally get suspended again if you have a purgatory on your history and break further rules.

Because having a contrary position to the approved one is against the rules. So, why have the topics at all if it's either all ass-pats or get warned?

Because any topic is allowed, so long as it lays within the ToS parameters. You have no obligation to post in topics you don't like, nor does topicality have any obligation towards you.

I think the guy you were responding to, and in turn my response to you, are about making topics about sensitive issues on the boards in general and the mods being overly harsh on modding people for having the wrong opinion. So, if you can't have an actual conversation about the topic without all that modding, why allow them at all?

I made a dumb pun about the Corona virus. As soon as I saw people were upset, I apologised and deleted it. I still got Warned. I agree this was probably fair, but it was clear I didn't mean to cause offence.

And I've been Warned twice for posting in trans topics for saying nothing offensive or derogatory in any way.

I've never been accused of being intolerant in my life, but according to my GameFAQs moderation history, I'm a transphobic racist bigot. Thanks a bunch.

I have no context for your trans things, but I agree with you that mods could be more lenient on things where rules were misunderstood and there was no offense intended. Like, I'm on my alt's alt, here, cause I thought PMs had different rules from boards. I asked for a porn link via PM.

I got warned for accidentally posting the wrong pronoun in a trans topic. Nothing controversial, I just read the first post wrong and said he instead of she. I now avoid trans topics.

I don't, but mods can be trigger happy about certain subjects. I can see why, since a lot of people like to let out the bigotry where they can, but I'm majorly pro-trans rights and recognition, and even -I- have been wrongly modded in one of those topics because my post was wrongly interpreted.

Still, a mod's not doing a good job if they're jumping the gun, even in topics where bigotry is more likely.

Well you probably should, especially now that multiple mods read a dispute to vote on it. Where else can you effectively mass email the mods? Everyone was using that loophole. Thats why they added that only for disputes text and added the penalty for failed disputes. Because people knew it was an effective way to send feedback.

I'm going to continue to doubt this in the extreme, unless you can verify the effectiveness of that mod.
