It's a very different beast to the first one so it depends what you're looking for.

I think it does. The ending is a great payoff.

IMO it gets worse. First episode was probably the best. It kept my interest enough to finish it, but I definitely found the first game to be better

Spoilers for number of endings but nothing story related.

There are four endings with variants in some of them. There's a similar final choice to Bay/Bae but you will only be able to get 2/4 endings by reloading your late game save depending on your decisions throughout the game.

Not really. You get an A or B decision at the end. Then the game decides if Daniel agrees with you or not, based on your relationship with him. So basically 4 endings. A(you)A(Daniel), AB, BA, BB.
