I normally dont like shonen, but it ended up being one of my favorite anime.

Season 3 has a moment as good as the Father/Son Kamehameha IMO. Was extremely well done and memorable.

it's interesting how much of the story is about inheritance -- not just with One for All, but also with the ideas and wills of the various older characters being passed down.

it's also interesting to compare the Deku/Shigaraki dynamic to the Luffy/Blackbeard dynamic from One Piece -- there's pretty clearly a lot of inspiration there

It has an amazing start but eventually disappointed me. IMO they fail to fully exploit the premise or validate the stakes.

there's one super annoying character, used mostly for comic relief, who's always trying to look up skirts and such.

most of the hero costumes are pretty skin-tight, and there are a few female characters whose powers (they're called Quirks in-universe) either require them to wear something low-cut (Yaoyorozu), destroy their clothing to some extent (Midnight), or are just generally fetish bait (Mt. Lady)

the fanservice isn't that bad or over-the-top though.

The first 3 seasons are some of my favorite some in a long time.

Season 4 is turning out to be really boring because it's focusing on this one plot beat for the entire fucking season.

This was explained by the author as Deku just saying that to pump himself up. What probably happened was he was subconsciously holding himself back (for obvious reasons) until there was no other choice and he had to go true 100% to save himself and Kouta.
