Why is Christianity being brought up and always the main focus of this argument when its definitely not Christianity that is oppressing gays in the year 2020. It has been quite a few years now where gays legally have 100% of the same rights and privileges as straight people.

Besides the rare case of a state superseding federal law on these matters, mostly in regards to adopting children, (Tennessee).

Trying to put all the blame on Christianity and not Homophobia is really just beating a dead horse.

The opposition to adoption and marriage, conversion therapy, and the Boy Scouts exclusion, which was already illegal. There are also charities for the homeless that would seek to exclude people who need charity based on sexual orientation.

If you're looking to mince words, you can instead replace "bigotry" with "blocking people from things because they're gay".

I agree, it's not a sin. The verse is simply misinterpreted.

"You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination." (Leviticus 18:22)

See, the Bible is being literal. You shall not lie with a man, as in tell the opposite of the truth. When you're around girls you lie to them all the time. When asked "Does this dress make me look fat?", how many dudes would answer "Yes"? But if a bro were to say "How do these shoes look?", you would tell him the truth. You wouldn't say "They look great!" if they didn't. You would laugh at him and tell him they're ugly af.

So you don't lie with bros like you would with chicks. Bible don't care if you nail another dude.
