How much
$160. It's more than I wanted to spend but they're my favorite band. Plus the show is very close to my birthday

They weren't nosebleed seats but they weren't super close to the stage either. Some people on reddit are saying crazy stuff like spending $200 or $400 on tickets. The demand is insane

Its not their fault. Ticketmaster is able to change the prices based on demand, so the prices change literally every second

We got in right away when sales opened but couldn't actually buy anything because we kept getting errors.

Glad theyre playing riot fest because those venue prices are ridiculous for MCR tickets

$150 for the three day pass to see dozens of bands + MCR is such a better deal

I mean, I see 20+ year bands doing prices like that. But has MCR reached THAT point of their career? I saw Pearl Jam for 70 Canadian bucks in 2011 and 85 in 2016.

That was also when dynamic pricing wasn't happening either...hmmmm.

Iirc the Eagles broke the $100 ticket mark back in the 90s and every other band since thinks they can do it too.

Yeah, its mostly because of dynamic pricing but it makes sense. I mean, this is their first tour in an entire decade and people feel like this might be their only chance to see the band live. We don't know if they're really "back" or if this is just one last reuinon tour. The hype levels are through the roof, people were using bots to scoop up all the tickets and things got out of control

Yeah to be honest I hated them in high school, but I can see the hype now. I was really into my Smashing Pumpkins phase back then and I hated how much Gerard Way looked like Billy Corgan. In hindsight, they are pretty good.

Its the break up for a few years and then do a reunion tour strategy

LCD Soundsystem used it to masterful effect to headline a ton of festivals in 2016

Yeah it seems like a lot of big bands from the 90's onward have done this. Some of them go away and stay gone while others come roaring back. A 10 year break seems to be a good recipe for a lot of bands.
