I cant suggest this movie.

Like 2 hours of ok but seemingly random movie and then finally the last 30 minutes something exciting happens but its confusing based on real events but at least it was entertaining.

I would never ever see this movie again.

That's disappointing. I've heard from a few friends say they weren't feeling it. Not going to lie, the trailer alone kind of turned me off from it.

I have no desire to rewatch it.

2 hours of nothing followed by 30 minutes of wacky absurd cartoon violence.

It is like, a 7.5/10, but that is disappointing from Quentin Tarrantino.

Would it be offensive if i made a movie loosely based on people from Columbine but the ending they heroically take down the shooters and no one dies?

Or a movie based on some people that were on the 911 planes but at the end they heroically take down the terrorists and the buildings are fine?

it wasn't my favorite Tarantino movie, but I liked it.

I thought that it was better than: Death Proof, Hateful Eight, and Reservoir Dogs, at least.

If those movies were made to respect, honor, and memorialize the victims in their best light, while criticizing and indeed de-fanging the perpetrators (the Manson Family still has considerable pop culture power, which this movie successfully, if only partially, deflated), then those movies probably wouldn't be received as offensive, no. But those movies probably wouldn't be made anyway, because Columbine and 9/11 aren't tragedies that are intrinsically tied to the Hollywood system, whereas the Tate murders were, which makes them uniquely suited to a movie treatment by that same system.

I get disliking the movie. It's slow. It meanders. It's not for everyone. But I'd say it's pretty far from offensive, and I went into it on the defensive myself, expecting it to be exploitative and distasteful. I came out of it thinking the opposite.

I didnt get this movie because i found it slow, boring, much of it pointless and the entertaining part was offensive, but at least it was entertaining so it gets a pass.

When the movie has you bored and tired, offensive is a nice improvement.

I don't really understand this response. In the post you quoted, I said it makes sense why people might find it slow and unappealing. I didn't even say you didn't get it! I just answered the questions you asked, to explain why I don't think the way it handled the Tate murders was offensive.

I liked DiCaprios character and thought he gave the best performance, but it seems the critics were more impressed by Brad Pitt. Overall, the movie didnt really make a lasting impact on me, but it did seem more polished somehow than some of Tarantinos other films.

It's okay that you're not into in-depth character studies without a lot of action.

But these were excellent. Brad driving around gives us a glimse into the gorgeous production design bringing a bygone era to life. It's like when you're in a train speeding by a landscape that you find fascinating.
