I just started reading WoT so I'm definitely noticing how much he blatantly ripped off from it.

Also apparently he's a total asshole?

I read like two books of The Sword of Truth and that dude loves him some rape. The bad guy in the first one has an elite army of sadomasochistic sex slaves. The bad guy in the second one likes to throw women into a pit full of prisoners to be raped to death. They kill all male Confessors because they inevitably use their power to rape people. Hell, the Confessor power is straight-up rape magic.

Even the male hero gets raped in the first book by one of the sadomasochistic sex slaves. It's not subtle either. If I recall, she leads him around on a leash and he has to call her Mistress. Obviously this isn't actually viewed as rape in the narrative because it was female on male and Goodkind's sort of insane..

I never got far enough in the series to see it firsthand, but he also apparently loves him some Ayn Rand. I accidentally read the sequel to the series, The Law of Nines, and a character monologues about how the bad guy got support by promising welfare to lazy people.

He writes them both at the same time though.

I'm remembering more of it now and holy SHIT Richard was the biggest fucking Mary Sue. Literally everywhere he went, he ended up being some sort of special chosen one that was part of a prophecy from hundreds of years ago.

I remember how the series ended. Suffice to say the ending of Mass Effect 3 wouldn't look out of place beside it.

And he always discovered some long forgotten magic technique no one ever heard of to solve this book's problem.. And in the first books they were numbered rules, and he discovered them in the proper order, too! First rule in the first book, second in the second book, and so on..
Even his First Wizard grandfather didn't understand half of what Richard was doing.
