Called an emergency plumber and he said he'd have to come back tomorrow morning to drain the pit and replace the entire pump assembly. Luckily we can afford the upfront cost and will punt it onto the landlord. The entire righthand side of the basement is fucking soaked. Yay? ... Copied to Clipboard!

There's a Petco down the streetIn the aquatics section they sell a wide variety of water pumps, and hosing to go with it. Temporarily you could get a water pump, and hosing long enough for about 30 to 50 dollars, and you can get the water that's in the basement out to avoid more damage or any molding issues. They have a pond section also with larger options. --- Ten million dollars on a losing campaign, Twenty million starving and writhing in pain. We're also on a bit of an incline and there's a creek next to our property line, so ground water naturally flows down to there. ... Copied to Clipboard!

So we had a couple restoration companies come out and give us estimates, and the landlord signed off on one estimate, so they started putting fans and dehumidifiers downstairs. He used a FLIR thermal imaging camera to look at temperature differentials in the walls, and determined that while the drywall was wicking some stuff up, it was early enough that we could just use fans to dry it out. Worst case, he said he'll cut some small holes in the drywall in the laundry room to improve airflow (as opposed to replacing the drywall outright).
These fans are fucking loud as shit though. Very high CFM ... Copied to Clipboard!

It was between that, a squeegee broom and a wet/dry shop vac. Luckily the water has mostly receded, and the only places still wet are the rugs down here. Not much we can do about that other than throw them out, which we have. Now we're just running dehumidifiers and fans pointed at the walls.
