Many cats are a little nuts, but a shelter in North Carolina says it has the worlds worst cat and is waiving adoption fees in hopes someone will take Satans evil spawn off its hands.
We thought she was sick. Turns out shes just a jerk, posted the Mitchell County Animal Rescue Inc. on Facebook.

The little hellions name is Perdita, and shes not for the faint of heart, according to an adoption ad that reads like something on a bad dating app. Mitchell County is about 55 miles northeast of Asheville.
Shes single and ready to be socially awkward with a socially awkward human who understands personal space, the post says.

LIKES: staring into your soul until you feel as if you may never be cheerful again ... jump scares (her specialty), lurking in dark corners... DISLIKES: kittens ... dogs, children, the Dixie Chicks, Disney movies, Christmas and last but NOT least...HUGS.

Shelter Director Amber Lowery says 4-year-old Perdita came to the shelter on Christmas Eve like the Grinch and quickly asserted dominance.

We are animal lovers here and very patient, but weve been concerned about her for awhile, Lowery told McClatchy News.

Im looking at her right now, and shes rolling around in her little bed, looking all sweet and cute, but the minute you try to rub her, she slaps you. We thought she was in pain and took her to the vet and he said: No, this cat is just a jerk.

Since then, the shelter has had to warn visitors that Perditas shy, kitten-like attempts to draw passersby to her cage are, in fact, a ruse that will end badly.

Lowery is the one who crafted the brutally honest adoption post and it quickly became a hit with commenters on social media.

Some claim Perdita is their spirit animal or soulmate. Others jokingly wrote of someone in their life who deserved such a cat -- whether they wanted it or not.

She might be the only cat my dogs would allow out of pure fear, Stefanie Walton wrote on Facebook.
I hope Perdita finds the goth home of her dreams, Sarah Sayour said.
Us too ... like soon, the shelter responded.

lol Her name essentially feminine take on the word "Lost" in Spanish. Sounds like the cat was either abused by people and lost faith in them or was born and raised feral, doesn't like captivity and refuses to be domesticated.

My aunt had a cat like that.
He was a total jerk, would scratch and bite you when you would simply walk past him. And no, he was not playing. He was simply a grouchy pussy who felt like he owned the entire house.
Needless to say, we all loved the crazy fucker.

An ex of mine from a few years ago had a bastard cat like this. Mean as fuck, scratchy, bitey. I managed to... sometimes... tame him and more or less chill out his defensiveness around me. gf was impressed. Said no strangers had ever been able to get that close to him.
