My question is why it's referred to as Chinese New Year instead of Lunar New Year. China isn't the only one that celebrates it. Like for example the news here will have story about the festivities put on by the Vietnamese community. Everyone they talk to call it either just New Year or Lunar New Year, but the anchor calls it Chinese New Year.
