Idk about worse, but it defently feels like it started really early. I dont think were gonna top the last one, it was a fun shit show every week about 2 candidates everyone hated. I got the feeling people are gonna be really apathetic by the time the election comes.

No, I don't think so. There was no incumbent in 2016 so EVERYONE was angry and yelling and screaming.

Now - the left is angry and screaming - but the right is actually fairly assuaged and kinda just laughing at stalling in the GOP-controlled Senate and Executive.

It won't be as much rabid, seething crap because we have an incumbent.

^ I meant by "laughing at stalling in th senate and Executive" that the Right seems to moreso enjoy the GOP doing nothing nowadays and calling it governing - more than actually governing. It's some kind of weird schaudenfreude thing where they want the left to suffer...

except they're suffering too...

At least the Dems have had 4 years to think of a strategy and won't repeat Clinton mistakes (or hopefully)

I'm more interested in 2024. Trump won by giving the finger to the established party, and the RNC has since bowed to him. What will they do in a post-Trump election cycle? Who will be the successor?

I would genuinely not be surprised if Trump and his family started a 3rd party in a bid to get one of his kids (probably daughter) elected - thus cutting the GOP in shreds and killing the party.

It would be like King Louis starting his own church because he can't get divorced. Some men are just that egotistical.

I dont believe that will happen. But I can believe Trump pointing to a successor. That seems common in populist administrations around the world. I just don't see how the successor can live up to Trump's twisted personality and legacy that has attracted so many. Similar to how Maduro can't quite match Chavez.

You really think Biden would get dragged through the wringer by conservatives more than Bernie Sanders?

That's because red voters were sick at the fact that they had a President that wasn't white.

The Democratic primary alone will be a lot more chaotic. Hillary seems to have more of a grudge against Sanders than Trump. The "Democratic unity" meme is going to come tumbling down real fast.

Oh, believe me, I know, I know.

A few of my customers sit around and talk about Trump a lot and its like a huge group of men who drink coffee all day and I remember them getting into an argument with another customer because he voted for Obama and the worst part was that they were all buddies...

Some of those guys complain a lot. One guy got mad because we didn't give him a fork even though he doesn't eat there...and we always gave him a spoon. He got up and stormed out quietly. They all complain if you dont' get them coffee constantly and one guy talks about eating ice cream off my coworker's vagina. These men are my comparisons to other Trump voters...

yeah, not everyone is the same but I've yet to be proven wrong.

absolutely. he fits into the archetype of everything they love to complain about with liberals and has historically fallen apart under even light scrutiny when confronted

Not surprising, his supporters fucked her over because they were too butthurt to support the nominee, him encouraging it would leave a bad taste in anyone's mouth.

It's too early to say if it'll be better or worse. IMO, it'll be better if Bernie gets nominated and worse if not-Bernie is nominated.

They will, but the fact that Joe Biden is on-record over literally decades talking about cutting Social Security makes it really easy to cut a 30-second ad about how he's bad for seniors, and would also let Trump run as the candidate who will save Social Security. Bernie doesn't have that anchor around his neck.
