So what? Several people I follow on Twitter and I "canceled" the game last year when we found out it wasn't third person like we were led to believe. We're very disappointed.

Several people are incredibly disappointed because they were ready to play in April and the game was pushed back 6 months. That's a very long delay. Plus, it may be pushed back again considering how things are going. Won't be surprised.

Etc.

No doubt, there will be many more disappointments surrounding this game considering how massively overhyped it's been for years. It won't live up to the hype.

I don't think they've been crunching for the last seven or even the last one year. Logically, they realized they can't make release via internal builds and the team had gotten massive draft lists of things still needed to be done and that was that. Studio director realized they need to delay the release, but are properly using crunch time to get it done by a certain time. As in, overtime pay, proper scheduling structure, etc if they are at all competent.

I don't think this is some situation like Andromeda where the team was left in the dark for years on what even the fucking story was all the while crunching from inception to "release" with tons of people quitting every quarter.

It takes truly widespread outrage for complaining to ever have an effect. Kinda like Battlefront 2's atrocious multiplayer progression when it launched

Also, CDPR is one of the very few companies that actually pays overtime for nights & weekends (even to salaried employees), so this is hardly the same as what other companies have done.

It all kinda depends where you are.

If you're a junior, you're kinda obligated to do those hours to earn your stripes and look good.

If you're a supervisor or senior, you can go home on time without anybody batting an eye.

No, it comes from a Q&A where one of the CDPR leads admitted that they would probably have to have some amount of crunch to finish things but that they would do everything they could to limit it.

The company itself has called out its policies as being shit for its workers. I think you'd be very foolish to think that nobody is complaining. No single employee is going to risk their neck to say that their company is abusing them. The industry has made it very tough for crunch to be an issue you can come out and talk about.

You would be the type of poster to unironically post a Kotaku article. The author even directly quotes the CEO and then later on twists his message:
