Your landlord should be responsible for that. You're not even moved in and there's already red flags in that relationship. Good luck with your slum lord.

If you rented a rug cleaner, etc. be sure to keep the receipts too.

This should be a condition after your walkthrough. If they have your money already, you've lost leverage on that. Honestly, why rent from somebody that can't even be bothered to clean the place?

I'd start looking for a new place so you can leave after your lease is up. Your landlord clearly won't take care of things

I get not finding little things like that, you'll know for next time. Bought a house, and I'm finding things that were missed.

But, damn, they couldn't be bothered to clean the carpets? Most places around here just rip it out and go laminate or replace the carpet and repaint prior to listing

I signed my lease like Monday, so its gg.

None of this is like home-ruining mind you but its annoying.

As an update so far four lights in the house dont work including the front porch, and Ive spend over $200 on cleaning supplies. My friend and I started shampooing and learned this carpet was not even vacuumed, let alone cleaned.
