Purely 01/16/20 8:23:16 PM #1:	I saw it just because I had one more movie to use for the week and the timing just worked out. I was hoping they'd have one of the Oscar contenders back but no luck there. So I saw it in Dolby and even Dolby couldn't save this. It looked pretty but man was it bad. I can't believe they got so many big stars to do voices on such a dreadful movie. Robert Downey's performance was one for the ages. Legendarily bad. The accent he did was awful and I couldn't understand what he was saying at all when he got serious and talked fast. Then all the jokes the animals were constantly doing were so bad, nothing funny at all. You may recall how my dog snatched a baby squirrel and mangled it when I was walking her, and I picked it up and was trying to save its life. The movie starts with this kid out hunting with his dad who is trying to get him to learn how to shoot animals but of course he doesn't want to. He purposely misses the ducks, but ends up hitting this squirrel. So he's devastated, and he picks it up and this magical bird leads him to Dolittle's estate. Whatever. The dying squirrel looked just like it did in real life. The same breathing patterns and everything. So I identified with that. Fast forward to after Dolittle saves the squirrel and holy shit, he becomes the most annoying character. Every time he speaks it's grating. I don't know what they were thinking with this crap.
