i read (and occasionally write) My Little Pony fanfiction

this is the thread where Im gonna recommend the good ones, because fuck it, I do what I want

and no I aint keepin it in the generals. those generals got fucking weird a long ass time ago. i ain't goin into one of those, so suck it up, buttercup.

rainbow dash might be over-represented here, because shes obviously the best character. but really, ill read and rec anything as long as its good.

Set about twenty-five years after Lunas banishment. Celestia is in a deep depression, unable to face the harsh reality of a life without her sister in it, not to mention the guilt of imprisoning her beloved sister in the moon. She retreats from the throne, leaving the day-to-day running of the kingdom in the hooves of a regency led by Prince Pyrite. While Celestia is distracted, Pyrite abuses his power and turns into a King John-esque figure, overtaxing the populace, seizing land from ponies in default, and selling off titles of nobility to the highest bidder. Story is about Celestia overcoming her depression and coming back into her responsibilities as ruler again.
