I've never done it myself (I loathe complaining to a worker even if my order or whatever is wrong) but at one of my old jobs at a piercing/tattoo place, we had a lot of Karens trying to return jewelry despite a no return policy.

One of them had a meltdown that we wouldn't return it, we had to pull our piercer/manager out of the back, she politely told the woman to fuck off, then she came back 10 minutes later with her husband trying to intimidate the staff. Ended up calling security on them.

People shopping over the holidays are criminally insane I swear.

yea I bitched and the manager was right there, she was a hot wrestler type and was really nice and calmed me down. "sir we are a used game selling place" me/I don't know anything about nintendo,my bad. I was lucky to find mario kart 64 used for sale and had all the gold trophies to boot. She was hot.

Nah cause I only pull the "Ask for a Manager" card when I know I'm right and the employee is just being an idiot.

Also I've found the number of stores where I know their policies better than employees and sometimes even the managers do is way too damn high.

One time my parents had this really shitty server, so they didnt tip her much. She went and complained to her boss and he came over and actually tried to tell them they should tip more.

Some servers are so entitled, its ridiculous. Just expect huge tips for walking to a table with a plate of food. Fuck off

I got to be that manager before. There was a really irate and annoying customer in the drive thru harassing and yelling at the employee working there. They asked for my help and when they started to yell at me I told them to kick rocks basically.

More specifically I said "I'm going to exercise our right to refuse service to you. You need to leave the drive through now"

That's when you get the General Manager involved, or if you're already at that level you ask for their District Manager's phone number (or whatever form of hierarchy they have) and call them from right where you are.

The employee was the manager.

This was at GameStop when Disgaea had come out on the PS2. It was very rare before the second print. They sold me one of those gutted copies and it didn't work. So I brought it back and wanted an exchange or refund. He confirmed on their PS2 that it didn't work.

He said to come back if they're ever in stock again and they'll exchange it. Otherwise, no refund because it was opened. So I told him that it's not coming back in stock (second print was like a year later and no one knew).

So he just shrugged and said he's not giving me a refund or even an exchange to something else. So I'm like "can I talk to a manager" and he was like "I am the manager and you're not getting a refund. You have to leave now"

So I said "fuck you" as I was leaving and he was like "no, FUCK YOU"

I went to another GameStop and the guy refunded me immediately.

An angry caller who was mad at our receptionist for "transferring him to voice mail" (the dude he was asking for was on PTO) somehow managed to raise enough hell that it got escalated to the CEO, I have literally never seen this happen before (and it also hasn't happened since) and the CEO basically just laughed at the caller and told him to STFU.

oh yeah. basically my job is to respond to a "contact us" type inbox. often people request a call before any background. I haven't made a call in months, though others have. I pretty much refuse, although there are a few situations where I will. I made it something of a habit to work around it when a guy swore over the phone and I hung up immediately.

Also there's a lot of product restrictions and people don't meet the requirements, so we tell them we can't work with them. Overall, there's probably more bs doled out by other departments than our clients.

See what sucks about this is the douche was rewarded and the good guy was punished
