Episode 2 is great. The bad romance acting from Anakin is just a small part of it. There's a lot more to the film. That battle with all the Jedi at the end is amazing.

people liked them as kids because episode 2 and 3 were nothing but ridiculous action scenes connected by scenes of people walking around in hallways talking to each other awkwardly. Theyre like the movie equivalent of shitty shounen anime that people like despite being almost wholly terrible because its really cool when the guy powers up and does a flip

they are perfect for kids of that era of movies where over the top action fight sequences were the same and the popularity of anime was on the rise. But theyre something you -should- grow out of at one point. A lot of people never did though

Lol, because it's dumb as fuck and makes no sense. Everybody hates Lucas for the prequels. People enjoy the prequels because of things like nostalgia and the world building and the few things that actually turned out good. It's also different.

The ST is the same EXACT same problem as the OT. Palpatine is back and the Empire never really fell.

And all Star Wars have had merchandise in mind. It's a franchise. Not sure what you expect.

None of this has to do with culture wars or SJWs or whatever nonsense.

You literally made up some BS about 95% of people thinking the PT is some "masterful visions of an auteur filmmaker" when no one does that.

Come back when you have something backing up your BS instead of resorting to trolling for having a dumb statement being called out as dumb.

Politics have sullied your brain.

Yeah, nothing has beaten the reaction of Yoda during his fight in my experience. Not even the Endgame scene at the end, which probably the second. The theater went crazy. It was really hyped back then.

The Palpatine arcs weren't bad. While the politics was done in such a horribly paced way it was interesting knowing what it would all eventually become and it did well tying in the story.

How Anakin turned was horrible along with his entire romance arc. They had zero chemistry. I felt more chemistry with Obi-wan when he asked Padme if the child was Anakins in revenge of the Sith. I think it was a mistake to get rid of Maul so fast. He'd have been a good trilogy bad guy to have. Somewhere in film three he'd be dealt with and it would coincide with Anakin going dark.

I will say this. The Phantom Menace has the greatest light saber fight choreography I have seen in any of the films. I just mean the final one on one fight at the very end though. Not the fight choreography of all the fights in the movie.

This is also very true tbf, lots of these people basically grew up watching these (although most were clearly too young to remember the extremely aggressive merchandising cos plenty suggest that the ST is entirely a marketing exercise by comparison lol) so have some positive associations. All of the prequel criticism really boils down to "The PT isn't enough like the OT," which explains why they went gaga over the warmed over rehash that is The Force Awakens. God forbid your characters walk in a hallway and discuss what's going on.
