And you are being equally as dishonest saying a game not even released yet is watering things down. I know a turn based RPG system is more complex then that.

You are the one making a claim you can't backup.
theres a demo already out and the full game is practically leaked.

Yeah, we honestly don't know how deep the gameplay and systems get in the remake and if it truly is dumbed down from the original, they haven't talked much about it.

We need to stop comparing the remake to FFXV just because the combat system looks similar. They might have very well learned from that experience.

Definitely outside of indie games, there you get a lot of quality new IPs. I worked out my top games for each year from 2010 to 2019 last year (well I couldn't pick for 19 but that was the idea) only one game that wasn't part of a series.

Yeah. Indie games are a breath of fresh air out of the norm/trend, but I would be lying if I said I didn't miss heavy hitters like Square coming out with a traditional JRPG that is not action or empty open world crap like FF15.

i think it should be understood that everyone is talking about videogames here, not tabletop games.

and going even further, most D&D based videogames like Baldur's Gate or what have you are realtime-with-pause, not turn-based.

I don't know about most. There's 9 in just Gold Box (would be 10 but Hillsfar doesn't count), + the og Neverwinter Nights, then you have ToEE, two Dark Sun games, & probably tons of shit I don't even know exist.

I don't know what you'd count Spelljammers as. It's got the turn based Gold Box combat but the ship battles are real time.
