It's more a matter of how deep the plane sunk, the pressure of the ocean completely destroyed all the bones of the Titanic victims long before we had the capability to get deep enough to investigate the remains of the ship. Similar thing will probably happen here, the bodies that sunk all the way are probably going to be completely crushed and washed away by the immense pressure. The plane will likely have parts spread over a wider area if it exploded, or if it broke apart after hitting the water, but we will be able to estimate around where it went down.

Yeah, but flying all the way to the middle of the Indian Ocean to do it is puzzling. The pilot could have nose dived it at any time. Could the pilot have depressurized the cabin and flown for awhile contemplating the suicide? Crazy shit.

If you're a flight captain with 33 years of experience, do you want to settle for something as boring as a nosedive? He probably planned the crazy path through the borders and into the ocean as a final challenge for himself and the world.

How many years ago was this now? I remember thinking at the time that they'd find it within a few weeks. I think I just read about them finding another piece washing up on an island. At this point, it's just so many grains of sand in a giant desert.
