I didnt watch it back then, so maybe it was worse when you were waiting a week to get another piece of that, but it was great when I watched all the episodes in a fairly short time span.

You can better appreciate the effort put into it when the previous ones are fresh in your mind. Let too much time pass and you probably would think they are all the same.

The whole thing could have been 2 episodes or 3 if you really wanted to stretch it. It's like Bravely Default chapter 5 but you have to do it 8 times in a row

Endless Eight was still better than waiting for Chimera Ant Arc to go places

Togashi might as well just finish up HxH as a light novel at this rate.

I haven't watched a single episode of that show but imagine waiting 8 weeks for some new content sounds like a nightmare

Should have been only three episodes: one episode where *Haruhi spoilers for those unaware* it ends normally and Kyon doesn't realize they're in a time loop yet, one where he realizes they're in a loop but fails to get them out of it, and finally one where he figures out the solution and gets them out of it. Simple as that. I give the studio credit for actually re-drawing so much stuff between the versions of the episodes, like different outfits and adjustments to the animation, so they clearly committed fully to the bit. But stretching it for eight episodes wasn't necessary and it really soured my opinion on the anime as a whole. Disappearance almost managed to redeem it... almost.

I mean it could have been 8 episodes if they just injected enough difference to make it feel like progress was being made.

For example, they could have requested Yuki inform everyone immediately on the 17th and they would have had more time to figure things out. There's also a bunch of plot points in it that went completely unresolved like why did Kyon stop Yuki just to ask her if everything was fine? And in the end the solution ended up being super mundane.
