I've been coming to gamefaqs, and CE in particular, for over a decade. It's never been this bad. Its like...they feel compelled to insulate themselves from any personal critique. Shutting down certain topics under "race baiting" while allowing others to flourish, baiting users into attacking them personally, only to suspend/ban them, petty ass back biting on discords... it's gotten to a pretty bad place.

Anytmie I've posted about an unfair one and given the mod ID mods never seem to respond. Basically if it's an unfair one, they won't respond in my experience

That's what I mean, the Answers page for a game could be the #1 landing spot for traffic arriving externally, but every game's Answers page is still absolutely dwarfed by its Board page so in the end that's a silly metric.

I mean the algorithm is terrible, you click on a question that's been asked today and the related ones are 2-3 years old

I imagine he's telling the truth somewhat in that "we get most people from Google going there" but trolls definitely generate the most traffic through accounts alone I think

People come to answers and don't find an answer.

Then they go to the boards to find it.

It is not there.
So they make an account and ask one of us answers it.

If your account is in Purgatory you can't even answer questions, despite the fact that the Answers page and the Board page have nothing to do with each other aside from needing an account to contribute to each (which you need to do anything, really).

It's because of how it's coded, IIRC. So level 4 (pending review) or less removes all features needing an active account and as you go lower you and hit -1, suspended removing more access

Can you tell if it is banned or closed? I was talking to him on reddit before bitcoin had that huge crash and he said he was planning on closing his account to focus on his hotels

It was banned ("Suspended" in Reddit lingo). Of course there's no knowing why, but you can still find his old posts on the site and his account page says Suspended, so it was a ban.

If a user deletes their account it just says "[Deleted]" where the username would be for anything they posted.

*shrugs* I went on a wall of text anti-mod tirade a few times in one week and even declared the entire modstaff was dead to me and I didn't even get an nwd. Error even replied to the post with something like "beep bep" or "..." or "uwu" or something like that, so it's not like mods didn't see it.
