Like, honestly the DLC pack seems fine I guess, but can we all agree the presentation was fucking ludicrous?

First Nintendo Direct of the year, after months of none, and we know very little about what's releasing on Switch through June besides Animal Crossing...
And we get a Pokemon Direct that focuses almost all of its 20 minutes on a DLC pack, mostly through a rundown of concept art, then repeating of that rundown with a voiceover.
Nothing about brand new games (remakes don't count), no details on Pokemon Home or Pokemon Sleep or Detective Pikachu 2, which they've revealed absolutely nothing about. Just pretending that they're the first company to ever release a DLC expansion and stretching it out for 20 minutes, when most Directs of that length run through like 10-15 headlines.

That's the part that irritates me the most. This would've been a lot better as a 5 minute segment in a regular Direct, but I'm assuming TPC wouldn't agree to that lol.

Honestly, them getting a full Direct just to talk about the Pokemon DLC is preferable. They wanted as much time as possible to detail the DLC (probably to try to convince the ones who didn't like the game for its lack of content) and I would've hated for that to take a sizable portion of a regular Direct.

It is a shame we didn't get any other news other than the Mystery Dungeon remake though.

I guess so? But as long as they took, they didn't even give that many details. They named off some new Pokemon, said we're getting big new areas, showed a little bit of footage of said areas and teased a few tidbits like apricorn balls and move tutors. It really could have been condensed to 5 minutes IMO.

I feel like they repeated certain things alot.

personally I'm kinda "eh..." on the expansion. I do feel it is a step above the "third versions" from previous generations (Yellow, Crystal, etc.), but that's also a pretty low bar to clear so...yeah...

They should have made this direct in March or April or something. They basically didn't even have enough actual game footage to warrant a direct. It was mostly concept art and bullshit. They could have showed Mystery Dungeon in a regular January direct.
