It's true. I grew up on classic Disney movies and never once thought about how old they were, just that I liked them.

Yeah, no. Kids still watch the originals. Now they have a choice of both.

All of the Disney remakes don't hold a candle to the originals, if kids can't appreciate the original then you should return them to the kid shop and get a refund

That movie was made great because of Hans Zimmer's music. If not for him it wouldn't have been nearly as good.

Scar is just incompetent and I have several issues with his decisions. Why did he need to promise the hyenas to ruin the land? He literally only 3 of them. Where was his supposed genius?

No, there were dozens of hyenas that roamed the land around the lions. The 3 hyenas you mention were the ones in charge of their pack which is why Scar made a promise to them in the first place.

still doesn't make sense. saw a nature documentary once where hyenas came to steal a lion kill... the male lion didn't leave until there were about 20 hyena's

To be fair some kids probably watched the live actions only. All I know is my nephews and niece watched the originals first and my nephew said a lot of kids in his class at school did too. He's 10 and of course the parents of said kids probably have their kids watch what they did growing up.

But to murder Mufasa he only needed the help of three hyenas to scare the herd into a stampede. Those three hyenas really bargained for their side of the deal.

Basically he enlisted a whole army of hyenas in his song part and only really needed three of them to take over. Then the hyenas destroyed his land and everyone hated him.

True that dawg. Dumbo just wasn't the same without the crows. I still thought it was alright though as it was at least different and not a carbon copy.

but if you did have kids you would understand that this movie is not made for you. It was made for kids and families like mine. You get your dark and serious movies like Joker, we get ours. In the end its not about you, its about the kids.

if you were a parent youd understand.

my 7 year old nephew didn't want to watch the live action Aladdin for more than 20 minutes.
later he watched the original and said "it's better than the other one" of his own volition.

Mulan without Mushu works for me because it's less of a complete remake of the original and a different interpretation of the Mulan legends.

Zazu isn't in the remake?

When the Mulan trailer came on recently, my friend was like "We can't have a talking dragon because that's too realistic. Also here's this witch"

My son loves Joker, calling it one of his favorite movies of all time. He didn't like the remake of Lion King, but he wasn't a fan of the original either.

I can't say I've really watched the original, as it was in French. It was our "end of the year reward." I have no intention or interest in watching the remake
