Current Events > Have you ever gotten into a fight as an adult?

If so, what happened and howd it get to that point? Outside of friendly sparring, the last real fight I had was during my sophomore year in high school, and the last time I came close to another fight was about 10 months ago. As someone who trains in self-defense, I generally try to avoid fighting unless absolutely necessary, but sometimes egos a bitch.

i had a neighbor i nearly got into a fight with. he was literally a narcissist and a bag of shit.

Some guy sexually harassed me and I threw him, but I'm not sure you'd call that a fight.

Managed to avoid it. Some angry, drunk kid wanted to fight me on the train about 3 years ago but bystanders held him back. I'm not even sure how I became the focus of his anger. He kept popping off when police arrived and he ended up eventually getting arrested.

I kind of felt sorry for him because he said it was his first time away from home, he was only 21 and from Chicago - about 2000 miles from home.

Yes. I got into a fight outside a strip club waiting for a hot dog.

Two guys jumped me. I came back with 3 of my friends and we curb stomped them into hamburger. I cracked a tooth during the brawl.

I was working in a restaurant years ago and a guy came in with a bad attitude while i was already starting a double and he just arrived. I told him to just do his job and he got an attitude, then he walked by me and bumped me with his shoulder on purpose. I got in his face and he threw a to go container at me and then i started punching him. He turtled up after a few shots to the face so I started punching him in his kidneys as hard as I could. He bent over more and I started blasting him in his lower back and the side of his head. He went down and i kicked him lightly in the face.

Anyways I got fired but the cops didnt press charges because i blamed it on the other guy. But really I kinda instigated it and fanned the flames, then hit him with a 23 hit combo from hell. One of the worst beatings I ever laid on someone. Ftr im not some great fighter, ive lost my share, but i kicked this guys entire Ass. I was just tired and angry.

I also broke my sisters ex husbands nose and beat him up twice. Hes a pos though, he abused her.

And I sucker punched a guy at the bar, he attacked me outside, and I kicked him in the face so hard im surprised it didnt break something. Then my girl started punching him, he took off, and we escaped on my bike.

Ive got more but you proly dont believe me as it is. Ftr im average sized and used to people trying to bully me.

I don't quite disbelieve you, you have about the personality for that nonsense.

Yeah, he was going on (obviously drunk) about how alone he was, and how his family didn't want him to come out here (L.A.), and how he wanted to go into music, etc. He's obviously drunk so no sense trying to carry on a conversation.

I said, "Good luck, hope it all works out for you." in the most supportive, encouraging voice I could. Next thing I know - WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO FOR ME? WHO'S GOING TO HELP ME? He stumbled (drunk), then he lunged at me and people restrained him. That was it.

Poor kid couldn't shut up with the cops and ended up arrested. Probably kept him in the klink until his family came all the way out from Chicago for him.

I always wonder if I could have done anything better in that situation but I don't really see anything I did as wrong.

i'm not a fan of violence against others but if it's for the protection of family it's allowed.
have gotten verbally assaulted by a tweaker/drunky while playing pokemon go one night. guy was trying to harass others on the prom by saying "citizen's arrest" can't get arrested for minding own business all i wanted to do was play my game. just ignored him and he went on to harass another group of people.

not as an adult. plenty in high school though. i'd probably tear an acl if i tried anything physical at my age. i did break up a fight fairly recently though. skinny dude was getting his ass whooped by a fatass. normally i wouldn't get involved but this dude was gonna kill that guy. he had back mount and was just raining down punches to the back of the head. at the very least could have left serious brain damage.

Good on you man. People don't realize how fucking random the damage of a punch can be if you hit the right spots.

Two people had a grudge against each other and it finally got physical.

I didn't get hurt, but I had to replace the frame for my glasses. I also got sick that night and had to take Nyquil.

A lot of times, yes. People always like picking a fight with the one person who goes straight for the balls

I'd like to hear more. But please, be careful attacking people while they're down; not only is it often unnecessary, but that's how you end up in jail even if it started off as self-defence.
