Last one was last night and today went way better than I thought. I didn't crave them once, though I used the nicotine lozenges so I guess that's good, they're working. It felt weird at times but I didn't even want one.

This is the first time I didn't want a cigarette when trying to quit within a few hours of waking up.

I need to quit. I have to use a patch at work cause it's 12 and half hours with no break to go smoke. I get a slight craving after eating but otherwise they work great

Day 2 wasn't bad either, still no cravings, I want sugar way more than cigarettes and I thought it would be the opposite

The first two weeks are the worse for most folk. If you don't touch a smoke in those two weeks then chances are you'll quit for good. Urges will always be a thing but those past really quickly once you've quit for a while.

I used vaping to quit several years ago, vaped for a year then quit vaping. I've not vaped in over a year now but the urge to smoke/vape passes me by now and then. Even more so when I'm walking behind someone who is using them. I doubt I'd enjoy a smoke now even if I had one. Good look man and you'll feel better once you quit!

Good luck as I know it's not easy. You can do it! I found it It helps if you do things with your hands when those cravings hit and keep busy

I heard changing the mindset helps, it's not that you CAN'T smoke, you can, whenever you want, you just choose not to for good reasons.

I might one day when I'm drunk or whatever, but I plan to give it a few months with absolutely none so I dont get pulled back in so maybe its kinda like that

The idea that a boss could make you work for over 12 hours (even just half of that), without a break, sounds like slavery to me. People do need to rest, eat and drink.

When quitting smoking it's best to not smoke at all. Even after you've quit I doubt you would want to as the taste would be horrible and the nic rush would hit you hard.

People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. You're always trying to stay cool and relevant.

Having a smoke when you've quit would be like a alcoholic having a beer when they have stopped drinking for years. It's never just one more and it's pointless. I get the urge myself now and then but would never smoke again even if drunk. I don't see the point.

It is because its considered a essential job. I mean we get to eat and stuff but we cant leave our post and cant smoke there. But yeah no breaks, no cell phones allowed on property no un authorized reading material which is anything non job related or really anything entertainment wise. Provided its a boring night which you hope it is, i basically stare at walls and people for 12 hours and walk around once in awhile.

People have been known to pull 16 hour shifts because their relief never came in. Hell during bad hurricanes people have been on the clock for 72 hours before. Now in those cases they do make up some make shift beds and let you sleep. But you still get paid even while sleeping and its likely overtime pay at that pay at that point

In which case you are just understaffed, which is still not an excuse. Speak with your union.

Does not mean you do not have a right to a break ever so many hours.

Special circumstances that would probably have law variations specifically for them.

Yes we are underataffed nationwide. Fully staffed you still dont get official breaks though. They want you there incase shit hits the fan as people could die even in fully staffed scenarios. Also in my state fastfood workers are specifically mentioned in labor law as not having a right to a break so I dont think a job such as mine would fare well in fighting for one. Seriously its not a physically demanding job 99.9 percerent of the time. Enough so here on night shift most employees fall asleep half the night.

Just sucks for us smokers. But I dont feel thats a valid argument for a break.
