If you're making minimum wage flipping burgers, you aren't one day going to be the CEO of McDonald's even if you are the best fucking burger-flipper in the world. That's just not how it works.

You have to show initiative and actually ask for more responsibility. You need to take it upon yourself to contact those above you and request opportunities to move up. No one is going to just hand you a golden spatula.

Why is so much of CE, when it comes to working and money, always willing to blame someone else for their state in life, but still wanting someone to fix it while they do nothing to improve themselves?

Rarely will companies promote someone to CEO. They usually attract a CEO outside the org to hire. But other positions sure as hell can be obtained through internal promotions. The problem mostly resides in the fact that not many skills being used will carry to the next level. Those are skills you will have to attain and develop outside work, which is now a rare trait to find in people. Many people do not do anything to promote their skills outside of work, and instead just slack off.

Yeah until you ask for more responsibility then your boss is like ok then you get handed more responsibility while still getting paid the same bullshit salary as before. Maybe if you're lucky you might get a nice couple grand extra after a year or two of busting your ass.

As someone who works at a lower mid range position at a massive cooperation, this bullshit narrative they say of "ask for more work to get paid more" is exactly what they want so they can work you to death while they can abuse the fact they brought you in on a low pay grade and will always keep you underpaid.

Honestly just be a lazy fuck, everyone else is and there's no incentive not to be unless you work at a smaller company where hard work is actually recognized, in cooperate America they don't care if you're a hard worker.

Okay so are you telling me everyone who has ever moved up in their work place said so out of luck then?

This whole post. Pretty much on the money. In this country it is literally better for you to slack off and not be noticed, because working too hard for the same amount of money doesn't get you anything and is less healthy for you.

It depends on the company. A service technician for toyota could climb the corporate ladder and eventually become a service operations manager or higher.

Obviously it's not the same everywhere, but yes a majority of it is based on luck, ass kissing and office politics.

This it also puts you in the radar. Any mistake you make while you're working hard will make you a scapegoat. Also if your effort level goes down but you're still working hard and harder than anybody else around you people will call you a slacker even though you're still don't the most work

Best way to operate is out of sight out of mind. And if the opportunity comes finesse your way into higher positions
