I don't know why Hollywood is doing a purge of them but they've crossed the line. Do you know which character is the recent victim of replacing redheads?

Black actors are not the minority in modern movies. Redheads are. Thats why Ariel the Little Mermaid has to stay a redhead.

I don't understand the whole replacing a minority with another minority thing that no one seems to be picking up on. Keeping minorities in competition with each other is how "the man" secures his place at the top, historically speaking.

Did you know that one of the proposed ideas for a Brave sequel was that Merida gets cursed and is turned into a black woman?

Brave horribly underperforming could very well be the reason redheads are out of vogue right now.

I don't think it is active erasure of red-heads specifically so much as it is a byproduct of casting significant secondary characters with minority actors to make movies and TV shows more reflective of the more diverse world we live in (I don't consider that a bad thing). The thing is, that comic books, especially older comic properties, had a highly disproportional number of red heads in secondary character roles because giving a character red hair was an easy way to make them stand out on the page. So you end up with a lot of red heads get getting their races change when casted.
