Playing Starcraft online was usually terrible. They would boot you before the match if your record is too low or bad or your lag is bad. During the match, your own allies would uncheck allied vision and would unally, then start attacking you for no apparent reason.

I only played NBA 2K online once or twice, but the players always tended to use the top teams and abuse the best players on the team. One guy I was facing used OKC and almost all the points were from Durant and Westbrook. I somehow made a comeback and took a lead near the end of the game, and he immediately left the game.

I never played Starcraft 2v2 with strangers lol.

I've had good experiences for the most part but I haven't played a lot of online games in the last year or two. Well, Runescape, ESO, FFXIV I guess. Good experiences in all of them.

I played a lot of 3v3 or 4v4 Fastest Map.

It was also lousy that some matches would go on forever, I've actually been in matches that went on for 6 hours.

Everything was great until servers went away and casual/ranked matchmaking took over. Nobody wants to work together but it's required to even have a chance of winning. Every match is just teammates playing the blame game against each other because they think they're the greatest thing ever and everyone else sucks

TFC was the pinnacle of competitive online games, and it will never be replicated

lol, it's a great experience... depending on the game. if you hate team based multiplayer you can just play 1v1 or ffa.

Doesn't appeal to me for the most part. The only game I've got a lot of pleasure out of playing online has been Friday the 13th.

I don't play online all that much. I've had some okay experiences in Forza Horizon 4, and some laggy experiences in Smash

There's a reason I stick to bot matches/solo contet and have friend/guild invites turned off.

The worst part of any multiplayer online game is always the multiplayer part.

I usually on play Call of Duty online, mainly ghosts for two years and for the most part it's been ok outside of the occasional death threats,threats to boot me offline,actual attempt at booting me offline that didn't work,getting deranked by modders. 90% of that was from people i know online,it's amazing how someone can go from being cool to being a total asshat who threatens your life over a videogame.

Co-op games and modes tend to be much more fun, and even no-mic strangers will often back you up when they notice you doing the same for them. The worst i've ever dealt with in these games is one guy getting angry at another player for not having an optimal setup, despite the other player doing really well.

Team vs Team games have resulted in most of my worst gaming experiences. People treating the game like a dick-waving contest, people moaning about others when they themselves aren't pulling ther own weight, and on some games a weird hatred for teammates playing as certain classes, regardless of performance. It's like people have forgotten that games are meant to be fun, or even worse they get their kicks from ruining everyone else's fun.

Games with poor team balancing are even worse, because you often end up with a one-sided shitfest that isnt actually that much more fun for the winning team.

I don't even bother with 1 on 1 PVP.

When I first got an xbox 360 my parents had a 256kb/s download speed. It had a super reliable ping though so I could play games just fine but any downloads would take a full 17 hours

I used to play fighting games online, mostly Tekken. It was fun. I just hated when someone would take a win and run. It just seems cowardly. I've always given at least one rematch when it was requested, usually as many times as they wanted.

Every communitiy has those elitist jerks who rage if someone does not have an optimal build or they rage quit after one wipe because they have no patience for new people, although they were once new lol. I play The Division 2, FFXIV and GR:BP and have only come across a handful of those type of gamers.
