I could easily see a world where they brought him back for the sequel trilogy in the same way they brought back Lando and people would love it. His race has more on screen development than...any other besides human? Even Wookiee, Mon Calamari or the Ewoks didnt get that kinda treatment. Hell, I'd argue it became impossible the second they showed him lucking his way through the battle in Episode 1.
