Back when I was growing up, we'd roam around the streets with the neighborhood kids. I mean at the age of like 7-12, we'd just get on our bikes and go to each others houses, play on the streets, roam around, etc. We played every game you can think of, every version of hide and seek and tag, every sport - football, soccer, street hockey, baseball, dodgeball, basketball. Our parents had no idea where we were.

These days, kids gotta have GPS trackers on them cuz of all the wierdos out there. Kids should never leave their parents sights. They end up being overprotected and don't learn to fight for themselves. Cuz when we hung out with parents out of sight, we had to settle our differences on our own.

Back in my days all the kids were already smoking cocaine, doing heroine and commiting crimes in broad daylight

I had the same experiences growing up. What changed though? Are there actually more weirdos out there, or are we just more aware of it now than before? Hard to have as much of a lackadaisical attitude as our parents had when you hear about this shit pretty much every day.

7-12 we stuck in our neighborhood at least. Beyond that, I used to bike for a few miles away from home to hang out with friends and I'd bike back at night in the dark. Parents would just be asleep and they'd ask me the next day what time I came home. I was 15 and I once came home at 7 in the morning when my mom was making breakfast and all she said was, good morning do you want eggs or cereal? and it was a school night lol.
