Spoilers!

Since now we know that Rey is of Palpatine's bloodline, it makes me re-think Luke's line in TLJ: "I've seen this raw strength only once before. It didn't scare me enough then. It does now."

At first we figured he was talking about Kylo, but in hindsight he was probably talking about the Emperor.

Yoda warned Luke not to underestimate the Emperor, but he still did, and he paid for it. Luke couldn't do a goddamn thing to Sidious in ROTJ. "I've seen this raw strength only once before..." seems pretty relevant now, eh?

It also gives Luke's unwillingness to train Rey more context.

Who did you think he was talking about? I thought Kylo was heavily implied...

When Luke said that he was referring to Salacious Crumb in Jabba's palace.

Then why did Leia train her?

Then why did Leia train her?

Because she never experienced the wrath of Sidious firsthand so she didn't know what to fear.

Still more likely Kylo imo, especially since they are a dyad or whatever. It would make sense that they resemble each other in raw strength.

Someone told me that apparently Luke name-drops Ben during that scene, so I guess that throws my theory out of the water >_<

She shouldn't need to since Luke's word and wisdom would've been enough. It's impossible to believe he'd sugarcoat the whole dilemma to her and stupidly put the galaxy at risk again.

Ah what the hell am i talking about, they had no goddamn plan and probably went with both our contradicting arcs because "fuck it"...

When are people going to give up on the Emperor being planned from the beginning? He was shoehorned in, just accept it.

Luke states in ROS that Leia trained Rey because Leia saw she was "good at heart". She would know Rey better at that point than Luke. I don't think that's really a good explanation, but that's what the movie gave.
