I still can't believe they ever did a Dragonball one (and from what I've seen, they definitely shouldn't have lol).
I don't know why, but anime and video games just don't seem to translate over to film very well despite there usually being plenty of source material. Although, comic books have been pretty successful as film in recent years for some reason. I think its more because Hollywood acknowledges that an anime or videogame series brings in big money but have no idea why they are popular. They basically throw out or distort everything that made them popular in favour of just another Hollywood movie.
that said, I think the whole five teenagers with attitude, able to morph into superheroes kind of movie still has promise, even if they are all female. Well, they're making a Funko Pop movie, you can bet that once they run out of remakes, toy lines, and revivals, they'll move on to buying up the rights to as many Anime shows and videogames next. Hell, they're already doing that.
